Body contouring surgery enables men and women to transform their body shape and is often performed after significant weight loss or child birth. The accomplished surgeons at the Form & Function Clinic have years of experience in helping clients achieve an improved figure using advanced techniques that give a natural-looking result.
Procedures we offer include:
Most body contouring surgery will cause some degree of bruising and swelling, which will last two to six weeks, and occasionally longer.
As with any surgery, it is advised that smokers cease smoking at least 6 weeks before any procedure, as it can delay healing, potentially resulting in adverse scarring and a protracted recovery.
It is important that you completely understand the possible side effects of your procedure and that you discuss these during your consultation. If you do not understand your surgeon's explanation, you should ask for more information until you are satisfied that you fully understand what is involved.
Returning to your normal activities after surgery is an individual matter and depends largely on what your normal activities are. Most patients are able to return to work between a few days to two weeks after the operation, but others may require a longer period of recovery based on the nature and extent of their procedure. Your surgeon will advise you on how long your recovery is likely to take depending on your individual circumstances. He will also advise you on issues concerning bathing and showering. Normal activities can usually be resumed after six weeks.
In most cases body contouring surgery will not have to be revised. However, as with all surgical procedures, revisional surgery may occasionally be necessary to address minor irregularities. Your surgeon will discuss this with you if it is needed.
